The Boss,

This is a cool set to add if you like The Boss, it is defiantly no Born to Run or Born in the USA but is still a good album to have your collection. It has some good tracks on it, including one toward the end that was in the movie The Wrestler. If you like the Boss it's a good piece to have your collection.
"The Last Carnival : A Tribute To Danny Federici",a CD/DVD combo by Bruce Springsteen.,

Bruce Springsteen releases another CD with Brendan O'Brien (BO) as the producer. There is therefore some commonality with the 2007 offering "Magic" which (BO) also produced. Bruce Springsteen is a bit heavy on this album, has a difficult dream he is working on & the death of a close friend & longtime band member Danny Federici. There are however some solid gems on this offering including "Queen Of The Supermarket","Tomorrow Never Knows", "Surprise Surprise" & "The Last Carnival" : this is a wonderful tribute to the death of the band member Danny Federici. He died of melanoma,a form of skin cancer. The tribute song "The Last Carnival" is a beautiful soulful soothing goodbye song to the fallen Danny Federici! The bonus DVD has a glimpse of "the hard work" at the studio on the album "Working On A Dream"."A Night With The Jersey Devil" is a bit scary video for me included in the package,a halloween tribute of sort. On overrall the album is satisfactory but Bruce Springsteen can certainly deliver a better product!
Working On My Dreams,

For the past 10 years or so, I've been a very avid fan of Springsteen's work. That may not sound like much, considering when he began recording, but consider the fact that that 10 years is half my life, and it's a huge deal. I'm very familiar with his work, including B-sides and other little bonuses, and this album ("Working On A Dream") struck me, at first, as a B-side album to "Magic." My opinion has since changed very much. From the opening 8-minute journey through the life of Outlaw Pete to the musings of a wrestler past his prime, Bruce has once again done what he does best - he's taken the life of an individual person in society, taken their story, and turned it into something fantastic and new, all the while maintaining the accuracy and intricacy of all the little details of that person's story. Yes, he's done it before, but each time it's something new, and each time, it's fantastic. This album is no exception. I've come to love it very much.
The bonus DVD is a nice feature; it gives a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album, and in one or two cases it shows the music video for a song as well. The music video to "A Night With The Jersey Devil" can be found online, but here you have a copy to watch whenever you want, whether you are connected to the internet or not.
The packaging is very nice, though you can't take the lyric booklet out of it. It's attached to the inside of the front flap of the album cover, while the CD is in a sleeve in the middle section and the DVD is in the right-hand section.
The only negative I have is that the CD case was bent slightly and wrinkled in the corners during shipping. It's not a huge deal, but it was mildly annoying.

This is Bruce Springsteens best,
for so many reasons because it shows the happy side of him,
most of his older songs are great too but there always depressing.
I think this is his best work yet keep up the good work bruce!

I love Bruce but he is dangerously close to being over exposed. Why he chose to put out this boring lifeless record I don't know. The wrestler is an excellent song. Working on a dream and my lucky day are pretty songs if not great. The rest of the record could have remained in the studio. I am glad for Bruce's late career renaissance but his talent would be better served if he would be more judicious in the work he puts out. Also I am not a big fan of the production of his latest records, I would like to hear a more raw and stripped down sound.
