Great device! I first saw this when I took my dog into the groomer. It works by grooming the undercoat of fur and removing the loose hair. I asked her where I could get one so I could use it at home, since it worked great. She said I could by it in some of the retail stores in my neighborhood, but she suggested I go online and purchase it, it would be alot cheaper. So I did. I use it at home now to brush the dog. She loves it. It removes quite a bit of fur that would eventually wind up on our floors and furniture. It was well worth the money spent.

Based on reviews here I got the double edged furminator and found my medium-haired cat tolerated it for somewhat longer than the single edge, but he still revolts after a few minutes. The product works far better than any other cat brush on the market, though, and I recommend it highly for anyone with an animal that sheds. Even though it's a bit of a struggle, the amount of hair the tool removes is amazing and my cat literally looks about 5 pounds lighter after we're done! NB: I've discovered he prefers to be brushed "dry" although it's recommended you use the shampoo first. I actually use a bit of the latter second and love how it leaves him smelling.

Title pretty much says it all. I would have preferred a single edge but there was a good sale on this so I thought I'd pick it up. It is kind of bulky and heavy...I have a yellow labrador (who actually is mostly white) and her coat isn't too heavy yet as she is only 6 months old. I would recommend this more for a dog with a heavier coat like an adult labrador, german shepherd, etc. Overall I'm glad I got it and will just really be careful how I use it on her.

I have three cats. One Siberian, one long hair calico and one short hair domestic black cat. I couldn't keep up with the hair balls tumbling through my house. I own the 4 inch single edge FURminator. It is a great tool, but sometimes difficult for behind the ears and tight places. The double edge tool makes this so much easier. It also cuts the brushing time in half. I can quickly run the brush over my cats and they are off and running. My black cat LOVES to be brushed. She purrs and rolls over to be brushed with this tool! I am so impressed!!! Thanks for a wonderful product!!!!!!

This is the best brush on the market for those pets with serious shedding issues. Brushing your dog is the most important part of controlling shedding and there's no two ways about that. It's not as simple as popping a pill to control shedding...you gotta get off your behind and do a little work and brush your dog. Do so with this brush, and you'll see excellent results. The only thing I'll advise is to go easy when brushing. Use a loose but controlled grip and you will be sure to get plenty of hair off your dog without scratching their skin. If you are too harsh, you will irritate the skin and making shedding worse, so go easy and let the brush do its job. I love the double blade because it catches the hair and makes it easy to remove from the brush. Perfect product for the right price here on Amazon...it retails for over twice as much at the store so take advantage of amazon's great prices and control shedding without shedding your wallet.
