A Simple Case that will Last Forever,

I have the Kindle 2. I love its lightness and didn't want to encumber it with a "book-cover" style case, that I couldn't easily remove while reading. I chose this sleeve because of its reasonable price and the Timbuk2 brand, which I associate with high-quality, long-lasting bags and cases. The quality of the materials does not disappoint. I think that this sleeve will last forever. The inside is soft and will not scratch the Kindle. It's trivial to put the Kindle 2 in and take it out; the sleeve is not tight-fitting.
I am not entirely happy with its design, however. The dimensions of the case are a tad larger than they need to be, which causes its middle to bulge out when it is closed (imagine an air bubble between the Kindle and the case). I'm not enthusiastic about that, because I thought the sleeve would be slim and sleek. The bulge isn't that bad, but it mars the stylishness. Also, the velcro only fastens at both ends of the flap, not all along its edge, which I don't care for too much. That design decision probably makes the case easier to open, but it helps contribute to the bulge in the middle.
All in all, this sleeve suits my needs nicely. I feel free to use it to cart the Kindle around in my briefcase and backback. It isn't as sexy as I'd hoped, but it's nice enough.

I love it! Just the right size to carry with me. And it is padded to protect my Kindle, but easy to open! It is sturdy and should last forever and the colors are perfect together.
Not just for Kindles,

I have to say this upfront, I am a devoted Amazon customer. But due to the spotty 3G where I live, the Kindle2 won't work well for me. So I ended up with a nook since it has wifi (the Kindle 3 now has wifi, but won't be shipped until August) and would allow me to download books at home vs. search for a good signal in the car. I am in no means stating one is better then the other, I would have preferred the Kindle.
So, onto my review. I wanted to find a carrying case for my nook that is durable and good looking. The cases sold by B&N are nice for the nook, but not quite what I wanted. I also am a fan of Timbuk2 cases, I have five other products of theirs. They are durable and functional. My concern when I ordered this case is that it was labeled for the Kindle, and the nook is a fraction thicker and a bit smaller in other dimensions. After more research, I realized this case is actually the notebook sleeve in size XS, not specific to Kindles.
When it arrived, it looked small. I was worried. But the nook fits perfectly. I now have a case that matches my other Timbuk2 bags for looks and durability, and plan to have this for years to come. The inside has soft fleece that protects the screen, the velcro is secure.
I can recommend this product for many e-readers on the market (Kindle, nook, Sony) that are similar in dimension. Fits well and durable.
(I checked the Timbuk2 website today, they stopped selling this particular sleeve on there, looks like they phased out the production. Get it on Amazon while you can.)
Perfect Protection,

Because I will be traveling alot over the next 6 months, my wife bought me a Kindle 2. Nifty little device. However, with all the pending travel I figured I needed something to keep the unit safe and secure. This Timbuk2 sleeve does the trick.
The sleeve is very well put together. It is made up of a sturdy canvas-like fabric with solid stitching all around. The flap is held snug with tough velcro strips; no chance of the Kindle bumping its way out. The interior liner is a soft felt type clothe that keeps the screen dust and scratch free. Dimensions are just right too. It manages to retain the handy compact size of the Kindle while still being big enough to protect it.
The reason for the 4 stars? The price could've been about $5 lower. But that's a subjective point.
Overall, a great product that will make a nice home for your Kindle.
Great case. Well worth the money.,

I recently bought a Kindle and decided on this case. I had seen some other Timbuk2 bags (and cases) and knew that they always produced great quality products. I was not disappointed. The case feels sturdy and has enough padding to protect the Kindle from a fall. The device itself fits snugly and does not slide around.
I recommend getting the "Black/GunMetal/Lime-aide" color. The picture shows a weird shade of green and grey, plus the red (on the inside) looks pink. But in person these colors look amazing and really complement the Kindle. In other words, the case looks classy as opposed to an army/camo sport case.
Overall, well worth the twenty dollars. It's Timbuk2--you won't be disappointed.
